"Bishnois: The Furious & Selfless Conservators since ages"

The Bishnois, as believers, are renowned for their utter devotion and absolute compliance towards the precepts of Guru Jambho Ji, the unofficial but the original father of ecology and founder of Bishnoism. He said, “Let thy earth remain adorned, let thee be with trees (allover),” and the Bishnois, the extreme followers, went on to lay their lives to keep intact the words of their God.

Let the word of (God) Guru survive and prevail, It is insignificant whether I survive or not, but we shall prevail.

Thousands of the Bishnois have laid their lives and have succeeded to protect the precious flora and fauna. In the North-Western India (The states of Haryana, Rajasthan and Punjab) the presence of wild life has become synonymous (& geographical indicator) to the presence of the Bishnois. Whats more, their Guru revealed upon them that Lord Vishnu is the only God and worthy of worship and asked them to recite His name (With this Guru Jambhoji invented “Japa Yoga”). The Bishnois worship Lord Vishnu and the devotion goes to the extant that even when a Bishnoi sneezes or yawns he would say- Hariom Vishnu (Praise Vishnu, who is the only God)

अनुयायियों के रूप में बिश्नोई अपने संस्थापक गुरु भगवान जाम्भोजी (पारिस्थितिकी के अनाधिकृत किन्तु वास्तविक पितामह) की शिक्षाओं के प्रति अतिशय समर्पण एंव संदेह से परे निष्ठा के लिए जाने जाते हैं. भगवान जाम्भोजी ने तथ्य प्रकट किया, “जहाँ तुम (बिश्नोई) हो, वहां की धरा हरे भरे वृक्षों से आच्छादित रहे,” एंव चरम-अनुयायी बिश्नोई अपने गुरु के आदेश की गरिमा को अक्षुण रखते हुए आत्म-बलिदान की पराकाष्ठा को न केवल प्राप्त कर गए वरन उसे एक परम्परा में परिवर्तित कर दिया.
“उनका शब्द रहे, मैं रहूँ ना रहूँ, पर हम रहेंगे.”
सहस्त्रों बिश्नोई आत्म-बलिदान की इस अद्भुत तकनीक से प्रकृति को संरक्षित रखने में सफल हुए. उत्तर-पश्चिम भारत (हरियाणा, राजस्थान, पंजाब आदि राज्य) में वन्य जीवन की उपस्थिति बिश्नोईयों की उपस्थिति का भौगोलिक संकेत बन गयी. बिश्नोईयों के संस्थापक गुरु ने विष्णु को सृष्टि का रचयिता एंव उपासना के योग्य एकमात्र भगवान बताया तथा विष्णु का नाम जपने की शिक्षा दी और जप योग का आविष्कार किया.
बिश्नोइयों की अवलम्बन निष्ठा का इससे वृहतर उदाहरण क्या होगा की छींक अथवा उबासी आने पर भी प्रत्येक बिश्नोई “हरिओम विष्णु” (विष्णु को मैं समर्पित हूँ जो एकमात्र भगवान हैं) का उच्चारण करता है.
